Supported Intendent Living (SIL)
Empowering Connection offers Supported Independent Living (SIL) for individuals with high support needs who want to live in shared accommodation or in their own home with 24/7 or scheduled supports. Our homes are built around safety, choice, routine, and connection — whether you need assistance with personal care, meal planning, medication, or community engagement, we’re here to help.
Participants in SIL receive support with all aspects of daily life. This might include help preparing for the day, managing appointments, practicing life skills such as budgeting or cooking, and building confidence to explore your community. Our SIL houses prioritise compatibility, structure, and inclusion — participants have their own private space and shared access to social areas.
SIL can be used for:
24/7 support for personal and domestic care
Rostered support overnight or during critical hours
Behavioural support monitoring and implementation
Routine-building and scheduling life activities
Community integration and group activities from the home
How this links to the Connect + Thrive Framework: A stable and supportive home environment is the foundation of thriving. By building routine, independence, and housemate relationships, SIL supports help you live a fuller, connected life.
