โ—  NDIS ยท Implementing behaviour support plans

Implementing Restrictive Practices

safe, accountable support

Trained support workers who safely follow your behaviour support plan, including any authorised restrictive practices, while working with you to reduce and remove them over time.

What is it?

What does

this mean?

Some people have a behaviour support plan that includes a restrictive practice, written by a specialist behaviour support practitioner. As an implementing provider, we put that plan into practice day to day. We don't write behaviour support plans ourselves.

This is regulated by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission under Module 2A of the NDIS Practice Standards. Restrictive practices are only used when they're authorised and in your plan, and the goal is always to reduce and eliminate them.

This may suit you if you:

โœ“  Have a behaviour support plan that includes a restrictive practice

โœ“  Need a provider who can safely implement your plan

โœ“  Want support focused on reducing restrictive practices

โœ“  Need consistent workers who understand your plan

What we do

How we

support you

We follow your plan carefully, report as required and focus on your quality of life.

Following your plan

Support workers implement your behaviour support plan exactly as written.

Trained workers

Workers are trained in your plan, positive behaviour support and safe practice.

Authorisation and reporting

We only use authorised practices and report to the NDIS Commission as required.

Working with your practitioner

We share information with your behaviour support practitioner to review and improve your plan.

Reducing restrictions

We focus on the strategies in your plan that reduce the need for restrictive practices.

Your quality of life

Your rights, dignity and quality of life come first in everything we do.

Who will

support you?

You'll be supported by a consistent team who are trained in your behaviour support plan and understand what works for you.

We review incidents and data with your behaviour support practitioner, so your plan keeps improving.

The EC Way

How we do it:

the EC Way

The EC Way is how we show up, every day. Small actions, every interaction. Here's what it looks like in implementing restrictive practices.

Choice and Control

People lead their own lives.

Your plan is built around you, and you have a say in how it's implemented.

Kindness

Care should feel human.

Calm, patient and respectful support, especially in difficult moments.

Inclusion

Everyone belongs.

We focus on helping you take part in everyday life.

Respect

Dignity is never optional.

Your rights and dignity are protected at all times.

Excellence

Good enough isn't the EC Way.

Careful practice, accurate reporting and continuous improvement.
